Julia “Kay” Dick, 78, of Island City, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Grande Ronde Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held at Island City Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at 10:00am.

Kay was born on January 1, 1941 in Lorenzo, Idaho to Ezra and Inez (Hall) Krupp. She resided in Idaho Falls until 1965 when they moved to La Grande, OR. She graduated from Bonneville High School in 1959. She married her one and only love, Doug Dick.

Kay was employed with Hydes Market, Alberston’s, Terry Trailer, then back to Albertson’s, Quizenberries and finally Community Bank. She was extremely devoted to her family. She was a member of the Grande Ronde Hospital Auxiliary, President for two terms, and active member for nearly 20 years. She was also a member of the Island City City Council and the Island City Cemetery Board.

Kay is survived by her husband, Doug; children, John Dick of Kennewick, WA, Joan Duncan (Tom) of La Grande, OR and Connie Hoskin (Rick) of Summerville, OR; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Inez, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
