Mary Lou Callaham, 77, of Pendleton (formerly of La Grande), passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at her residence. A Viewing will be held at Loveland Funeral Chapel on Friday, January 25, 2019, 5:00-7:00pm and on Saturday, January 26, 2019, 10:00-11:00am. A Graveside Service will be held at Island City Cemetery on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00pm.
Mary was born on March 7, 1941, in Rolla, Missouri to Charles and Margret (Jones) McDowell. She resided in La Grande for 43 years before moving to Pendleton to be near family. She was married to Ervin L. Callaham for 30 years.
Mary was a loving wife and devoted mother to her children. She enjoyed crafting and playing bingo. She was a member of the Grande Ronde Hospital Auxiliary, and the La Grande Eagles Auxiliary. She is a survivor of breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.
Mary is survived by her children; Dan Callaham (Robin) of Pendleton, OR, Anna Callaham of Pendleton, OR and Nancy Callaham of Caldwell, ID; sisters, June Creson (Art) of La Grande, OR, and Bonnie Carper of Salem, OR; brother, James McDowell (Mary) of LaPine, OR; sister-in-law Charlotte McDowell; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Margret; husband, Ervin Callaham; brothers, Arthur McDowell and William McDowell.
